Gandhi Ahimsa and the Significance of Tibet1st October - On the Eve of Gandhi Jayanti and International Day of Nonviolence , The Gandhian Centre of Swaraj Peeth along with TPPRC organized a seminar on the topic of "Gandhi's Ahimsa and the Significance of Tibetan Struggle for Our Times" at India International Centre, New Delhi. The talk was addressed by Prof. U.R. Anantha Murthy and chaired by Prof. Mrinal Miri.

Gandhi Ahimsa and the Significance of Tibet

The talk was based on the Gadhian principle of Non-violence, Ahimsa, Truth, Satayagrah, Justice and Equality. It also referred to the current Tibetan struggle based on the Gandhian method.

In the part of his speech he further stated that Tibet's belong to the great civilization of Indian civilization so the Tibet is very closer to India than any other nation.

Talk on Reappraising China

Re-appraising ChinaNew Delhi, July 21 - Eco Monitors Society supported by the Tibetan Parliamentary and Policy Research Centre (TPPRC) organized a talk on the "Reappraising China" at the India International Centre in New Delhi. Speaker Maj. Gen (retd.) Vinod Saighal, Executive Director of Eco Monitors Society and chair by Ms. Kapila Vatsayan Member of Indian Parliament.

He addressed the audience that Beijing Olympic is reappraising China or to put it differently with a China. The perspective is global but China's India neighbourhood do figure prominently in the presentation that he shall making this evening.

Prof. Samdhong RinpocheNew Delhi, 16 June 2008: Tibetan Parliamentary and Policy Research Centre along with Mr. Dalip Mehta former Ambassador organized a seminar on the "Future Prospect for Tibet" at the India International Centre in New Delhi. Speaker Venerable Professor Samdhong Rinpochoe (Prime Minister of Tibetan Government in Exile)

He said his presentation is the more or less centralized to explain that what is the middle path approach through which we are trying to find resolutions to the Tibet problem. In doing so he has to beat the bush around to give certain kind of background that is how this situation is been arrived or created. The historical reasons are so important. The friends who are gathering in this morning here appear to him that well versed with Tibet history and Tibet issue.

Today's Youth Tomorrow's Leaders

Today's youth Tomorrow's LeadersThe Tibetan Parliamentary and Policy Research Centre based in New Delhi organised their 7th Annual Youth Leadership Workshop for Tibetan students studying in Indian Universities at Dharamsala from 7 – 15 June 2007. 75 students from 18 Indian Colleges and Institutions attended the workshop.

The main objective of this workshop was to groom Tibetan youth for their future responsibilities. Besides lectures and panel discussions, the students were taken on tour to all the departments of the Tibetan Government in Exile, offices of the Non-Governmental Organisations and cultural institutions in and around Dharamsala

Seminar on 1914 Shimla Convention held in New DelhiNew Delhi, July 4 - Commemorating the 94th anniversary of the July 3 Shimla Convention(1914) the ML Sondhi Institute For Asia Pacific Affairs supported by the Tibetan Parliamentary and Policy Research Centre (TPPRC) organized a day long seminar on the Agreement and its subsequent consequences at the India International Centre in New Delhi today.

Presenters and subject experts included Dr. Anand Kumar from the Centre for the Study of Social Systems JNU, MP Khiren Rijiju (Lok Sabha) from Arunachal Pradesh, Former Foreign Secretary K Ragunath and Former Ambassador Ranjit Gupta, Senior Advocates Rajiv Dhawan and Naresh Mathur (Supreme Court of India), and Gandhian Rajiv Vora, Chairman of Swarajpeeth and its Director Dr. Niru Vora.

The main objective of this workshop was to impart the better management concept and future progress of their cooperative societies. Besides lecutres and panel discussion, the most of time was a group discussion and interaction of each cooperative societies to share their views and problem with each other
