Dharamsala, 17 February, 2012: Kalon Tripa Dr. Lobsang Sangay inaugurated Tibet Policy Institute (TPI) day before yesterday. The newly founded Institute will serve as a platform for doing comprehensive research works on all aspects of Tibet and Tibetan related issues which would help the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) in framing policies for the next fifty years and making the Tibet issue a competent case on the international platform.
Six Tibetan M.Phil & Ph.D students were invited to the inauguration by the CTA. Following the inauguration ceremony in morning, one and half day seminar on the current situation of Tibet was held at the DIIR Lhasang Tsering Hall. Mr. Thupten Samphel, the new Director of the TPI sought suggestions from the students on diverse research works whereby they actively took part in the seminar with professional CTA researchers and shared views on wide ranging issues. TPPRC facilitated the students’ travel to the inauguration while living accommodation during the seminar was arranged by the CTA.
