Activities:
On February 25, 2003 letters signed by all members of the group-calling for Chinese authorities to take a humane approach to political prisoners in Tibet who are incarcerated for long without due process; urging Chinese government for commutation of death sentence passed down on Trulku Tenzin Delek and his release- were sent to Mr. Li Peng, President of the National people's congress of PRC, Mr Zhang Fusen, Minister of Justice-Beijing, Mr Zhang Zhongwei Daishengzhang, acting governor of the Sichuan provincial People's Government, Sichuansheng-PRC, Mr. Wang Kaiwen, Ambasador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Embassy of PRC; letters dated July 2, 2003 expressing shock at the deportation of 18 Tibetan refugees by the Nepalese authorities were sent to Mr Surya Bahadur Thapa, Foreign Minister of Nepal, Director-General of Immigration, Kathmandu, Mr Gyan Chandra Acharya, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Permanent Representative to the UN, and its copies were sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of PRC; On March 25, 2004 a letter signed by all members of the group was sent to the Canadian Prime Minister Mr. Martin urging him to meet His Holiness in April 2004 in support of the initiative of the Canada Tibet Committee.
